Connie Joy (Wiebe) Knoll age 79 of Lincoln, NE formerly of Omaha, NE peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Lancaster Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln.
Connie was born on November 8, 1938 to John Theodore and Elma Suzanne (Wiens) Wiebe in Dalhart, TX. When she was three years old, Connie moved with her family to Madrid, NE. She was raised and schooled in Madrid and graduated from Madrid High School Madrid with the class of 1956. After graduating from high school, she began her medical career as a nurse's aide in Ogallala, NE and Connie began taking classes to become a Register Nurse. She met Paul Richard Knoll and they were later married on March 16, 1957 in Pasco, WA. Connie and Paul made their home in Lincoln, NE until 1969 when they moved to Omaha, NE. While living in Lincoln, Connie earned her LPN degree and then in 1980 she graduated from the College of St. Mary's in Omaha with a Registered Nursing degree. Connie had worked as a RN at the Nebraska Methodist Hospital.
She is survived by her son: John Knoll of Scottsdale, AZ; son-in-law: Brad Browne and wife Lori of Lincoln, NE; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Elma Wiebe, daughter: Thayes S. Browne, her husband: Paul Knoll, and two sisters: Delores Harms and husband Merlin and Jackie Mickels and husband Don.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, January 15, 2018 at St. Philip Neri Church in Omaha with Father Michael Gutgsell officiating, Emily Santamaria as vocalist, and Kim Becker as organist.
Her Final Resting Place will be a Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth, NE.
